Hi, I’m Caren
I've been a psychotherapist for over 30 years. During that time, I've had the opportunity to work with individuals from many different backgrounds, life stages, and experiences.
I believe therapy is about more than simply managing symptoms. It's about understanding yourself more deeply, healing at the root, and creating lasting change that carries into every part of your life
My Approach
I don't believe in quick fixes or putting band-aids on what might be core issues.
I believe in helping clients do the deeper work so we can get to the root of what they're experiencing rather than simply treating the symptoms.
Healing isn't always easy, but when we begin to understand the patterns that have shaped us, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.
About Me
Sometimes early life experiences can have a lasting impact, shaping how we see ourselves and the world around us.
Having gone through my own personal healing, I understand what it means to do this work from the inside.
It’s through that process that I’ve come to a place of greater peace and self-understanding.
And it’s from that place that I feel a genuine desire to help others who are working through difficult life experiences and trying to find their way back to themselves.
About Me
My Story: The Wounded Healer
The concept of the “wounded healer” is not a new one.
Carl Jung and Rollo May both explored the idea that those who have experienced their own suffering may be uniquely equipped to help others through theirs.
As someone who has experienced childhood trauma, I know what it feels like to carry emotional pain, struggle with self-worth, and question your own value.
My personal healing journey continues to shape the therapist I am today and allows me to meet others with empathy, understanding, and hope.

My Personal Journey
I was 13 when I found the courage to tell my parents that I was depressed and that I didn't like myself.
Although I appeared happy on the outside, something inside felt deeply wrong. Fortunately, my parents believed in therapy, and that decision became the beginning of my own healing journey.
Like many people, I walked into my first therapy session feeling nervous, uncertain, and afraid of being truly seen.
Over time, through patience, trust, and compassion, I slowly learned to let go of the shame and self-blame I had been carrying for years.
That experience continues to remind me how powerful therapy can be when we feel safe enough to be fully ourselves.

Specialized Training
EMDR Therapy (EMDRIA Certified)
I have completed advanced training in EMDR therapy and am EMDRIA Certified. EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals process trauma and distressing life experiences in a structured and supportive way.
Gestalt Therapy
I also completed three years of post-graduate training in Gestalt Therapy. This approach emphasizes present-moment awareness, authentic connection, and helping individuals better understand themselves and the patterns that shape their lives.
My Mission
Your relationship with yourself comes first.
It lays the foundation for how you experience your life and how you connect with others.
My goal is to help you find, accept, and embrace your authentic self with greater compassion and understanding.
Together, we'll work to uncover the deeper issues that may be keeping you stuck so you can experience greater clarity, connection, and fulfillment.
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud became more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
